This year, the 2026 Kicking for Causes event at Rocky Silva’s American Karate will proudly partner with FeedRI and their Feed the Future school pantry program. Through this event, we aim to support their ongoing efforts to reach more students across Rhode Island who are facing hunger and food insecurity. With your help, we are working to raise over $50,000 to expand their impact and ensure no child goes without the food they need.

Every child deserves to focus on learning, not hunger. FeedRI’s school pantry program transforms schools into reliable sources of nutrition, giving students consistent access to food during school hours and beyond. What began with a single educator’s concern for students struggling outside the classroom has grown into a powerful initiative serving some of the state’s highest-need communities.

In these districts, more than 50% of students face economic hardship. While school meal programs provide essential support, many children still experience gaps during evenings, weekends, and school breaks. FeedRI works to close these gaps by building fully equipped, school-based pantries stocked with fresh and shelf-stable foods. These spaces allow students to choose what their families need in a safe, welcoming environment, reducing stigma, promoting dignity, and strengthening entire communities.
